[sdiy] Cheap Midi->CV

The Paia converter is cheap, easy to assemble, and functions well for the
money. As mentioned previously, the resolution isn't very accurate. I found
it almost impossible to calibrate my VCOs using this converter (I had to use
the CV out from an MG-1 instead). The other prob I had with it was current
consumption. On my last modular I wound up having to partially rebuild my
PSU because the converter used more than twice the current the specs rated
it for.
The mode selection routine got old very quickly too. You could never tell if
it had actually accepted the note-on during power-up and switched to poly
mode. This became quite aggravating during performances.
