Re: Cheap insurance, yeah, I don't see much reason to debate this stuff.
Scrapping just about anything will yield more caps than I can possibly use,
I have boxes of 'em, ceramics, electrolytics, and whatever, and board
space costs but not *that* much -- at worst just tack solder the darn things
in where some other component lives.
No reason I can see not to use a whole mess of decoupling caps all over the
place. Lots and lots of them...
