It's worth DLing synthEdit for the demo. I put alot of work into it and it 
just plain rocks. You can export the demo as a VST plugin too!

Many moons ago (early 90s) I worked as an R&D tech for a company in NJ, 
where I had to build app examples for a 64180 based SBC. One of those apps 
involved controlling stepper motors with only 3 I/O lines (wow). I built an 
interface using discreet logic and now the same interface has been 
bastardized for use in a synth. Enjoy!
