Daniel,
check out the schedule with this place.
http://www.galapagosartspace.com/
They have interesting happenings. I used to perform there with my old
modular a few years back.
also try:
http://www.unitygain.org/
I highly recommend anything they have to offer. Also search for Charles
Cohen who does some very nice shows with his Buchla Music Easel
He's a very nice fella too talk with. He was trained to use his Easel by
Buchla himself so be sure to ask him about that if you get the opportunity.
While you are there inquire about +/-
it is a an underground music organisation which has a mailing list. They
used to have shows every wednsday in alphabet city. Try asking around in the
funkier music stores in the East village. Usually worth the effort.
To have a few drinks and not go broke check out Max Fish, they have a
website. Great little bar and an old haunt of mine and others in the
underground scene. If you go to Max Fish make sure you get a hot pastrami
sandwich at Katz's on the corner.
Check out concerts in Prospect park - it's schedule is on the web somewhere.
You can have a really nice time at the west indian festival in brooklyn this
weekend too, actually it might be on the 9th this year - search the web.
actually I just emailed a list of things to do to a friend of mine in Brasil
who is visiting NYC soon. I'll try to find a copy of that email to send you.
I know I had lots of links in it.
