high-voltage inverter must be placed carefully to avoid audio interference.
Usually the inverter puts out an EM field that is stronger along one axis
than the others, so spacial orientation as well as distance from audio lines
is important. You can get a rough idea without special equipment by waving
an ungrounded scope probe around the inverter when it is running.
Actually as long as audio lines are shielded/grounded then most of the
problem is solved. One possible solution for a modular system would be to
locate the inverter remotely in the main cabinet PSU section, with a supply
line running to the EL panel on the module in question. I am assuming that
PSU layout in modular cabinets is already intended to minimise power/audio
interference.
