It just occurred to me that with only slightly more complexity you could
illuminate a large panel using small electroluminescent sheets... as long as
each small sheet has its contacts for AC power, you can run a number of them
wired in parallel from the same inverter. Running the wires/EL contacts
under the panel then becomes the problem to solve.
