Y-ellow All.
         I know I don't seep out of the woodwork often these days but I'm 
having problems installing AVRstudio4 and I was wondering if anyone here 
might be bearer of the solution.

I'm trying to get it onto a Win98 boxen. My new bench-box. It will get as 
far as hitting the "Next" button and then bombs with a largely non-specific 
error in a temporary DLL that is immediately removed. At least I can't find 
it at any point existing on my boxen.

I can install it on a Win2K box. I can even install it on this here WIN98 
box. But not on the box I need to install it onto in order to talk to the 
programmer(s) etc. And I can't see what's actually different.

A search on the net says something about XML files not being handled. 
Needing a later version of Internet Exploiter. However, on both boxes that 
it WILL actually install on, IE does not exist at all. And I don't mean 
it's just been disabled. I mean it's had it's still beating heart ripped 
out from it's bloody chest cavity. There is no trace of IE on either box. 
(One of the secrets to actually running a stable windows box.)

The Browser of choice in both cases is Opera. However installing Opera8 on 
this new box makes no difference to the situation. I have no idea why it 
needs XML anyway but there seems to be a lot of XML files installed in it's 
directory structure. I'm not even up on what XML actually does to be 
honest. And I can't be sure that this is actually what the problem is. It's 
just that this is all I've found mentioned. Perhaps it has something to do 
with a version of Windows Media Butcher?

Anyway, if anyone has butted their head against this one and found the 
secret I'd be most grateful if you'd whisper it in my ear.
