[sdiy] has anyone ever made their own Nord Modular?

You know....in general...it costs a lot more to DIY than to just
buy...(cost is not the reason I DIY...I DIY because it is fun...and keeps
me off the streets)....

For digital stuff...even though it looks "inexpensive"...it is really just
as expensive as analog. A 1.5 Million Gate FPGA may cost $50 (this is REAL
cheap)....but the software to develop applications with is $1500....

Your main expense with DSP is going to be the cost of the compiler...and
the 1 man year or so it is going to take you to write the software...(I am
willing to be that the Nord Modular has close to 5 man years in it).

You can balance cost vs fun by trying to find as much free ware as
possible...and to tell you the truth...here is an opportunity for you to
fill a huge gap in the DIY world :-)
