[sdiy] has anyone ever made their own Nord Modular?

The Chameleon looks good but it is as expensive as buying a Nord G2 engine.
With everything I build, one of my primary concerns is cost... DIY to create
a piece of gear I could not afford.
I looked at the Analog Devices Ez-kit... it costs around $250 which is ok
but nto a greta price for a DSP board that is 3 years old. Again, a Nord
micromodular seems like a better deal in comparison.
Any other options?
cheers,
Danjel
