But then again, _every_ circuit is nonlinear, and very nonlinear if the
signal level is high enough. It's just a matter of how smoothly the
distortion
increases until, and after, the signal hits the supply rails somewhere.

Sure you can design the circuits, and choose the signal level, such that
hitting the rails doesn't occur.

But it certainly occurs in a CS-synth, with both filters at max resonance
and same corner frequency, and the VCAs wide open.
Probably occurs _after_ the VCF, though.
