A capacitor and resistor 'might' work. If the trigger
drive has good, low impedance and the input to the
next device has good, high impedance... it will work
fine.
It need not reduce amplitude much...
~but~ it would be VERY machine specific. What works
for
one will not work for the next.
If the unit sending the trigger has a resistor in
series with the output, you will get an RC filter from
that and it will slow the response, delay the trigger,
and lower the amplitude.
Do what your Uncle Scott suggests... Use an active
circuit, if only to use the capacitor and resistor and
a transistor buffer following it
