[sdiy] Trigger pulse length

I don't think a capacitor (and resistor) by itself will do much good, it will lower the
amplitude while stretching it and also delay it some. Too low an amplitude will result in
not reaching the trigger threshhold of the device it's meant to drive and delay means
things won't trigger when you want them to.
A better solution would be a one-shot. A 555 timer (or CMOS 7555) can do this and is a
simple circuit (which can be found on the device's datasheet). A 7555 can easily be
powered with a battery. It's output will be an adjustable rectangular pulse.
