the Polyphony version isn't too different from the data sheet; adds some
circuitry around the resonance input to convert CV inputs to reverse log.
both versions buffer the output, generally a good thing. i'm not sure a 555
would be all that great for modulation --squarewaves are kind of limited in
usefulness as a modulation source (at least to my ear), and you'd risk
adding a lot of noise to the circuit... i think the lowpower 7555 would be
better in terms of the latter issue.
