Ethos is a personal choice. It can not be applied or enforced. Microsoft is 
a Corporation. There is no ethos. Individuals within the corporation may be 
ethical or not. And, we all know the answer to that.

Ethics is a choice that reaches beyond law.

If a neighbor leaves a Wi-Fi connection unsecured is ethical to use the 
connection?

If a neighbor leaves the garage door open is it ethical to use any of the 
contents of the garage?
