I suppose that someone else will have said this
by now, but a 4011 in place of a 4001 will NOT
blow up like yours did... unless you install it backwards.

Even then a total meltdown would be rare.  I suppose it
might latch up and suck all the life from a huge filter cap...
but that would be rare.

A 4011 vs 4001 sub will just not work right (in most cases) but
without the pyrotechnics
