"Maths" is not a word. "Math" and "Mathematics" are words.
According to http://www.artlex.com/ArtLex/m/mathematics.html
"'Mathematics' is a plural form but takes a singular verb." In other words,
you could say "I'm studying Math," or even "I'm taking several Math
courses."
Just a minor point.
