Remmeber that EL Film someone reported a week or so back?  Well, I got the
two sheets I ordered.  Sofar as my guineapig I took apart my DSS1.  The old
EL sheet slid out from under the LCD with little trouble, I cut off a chunk
of the new and followed the instructions to install the pins.

To make a long story short, for the first time in many years my DSS1 has a
backlight!!  Worked perfectly.  I have enough left from this first sheet to
repair my TG77 and probably a couple more machines, still leaving me with a
full sheet.  

I'm very pleased.

Next up is to do my TG77.

These sheets also came with a little potted 12volt power supply and you can
usually find 12volts in most devices so this would also be an option for a
unit where the supply had zorched too.
