well, to be a zealous pedant, the whole euphemism is a bantering 
quip.  the statement is both right and wrong, and irony is as 
temperate in the equation as hypocricy is, which is to say, "linux 
is/not unix" is as right as either "linux is unix" or "linux is not 
unix" ..

you see, unix geeks, linux geeks too, groove to the wildcard.
