[sdiy] Clever solutions for cabling hinged enclosure?

Im thinking of doing a project in a hinged case, and i want to split the interface between lid and base.

I am, however, concerned about cabling over the bend.

It seems most things ive ever seen use ribon cable for a flexible join, but any other suggestions would be nice too?
