I don't mean to be the defender of all things Linux, but if you'd like
some help fixing your laptop, let me know.  It seems highly unlikely
that your BIOS was erased or corrupted simply by the install
procedure; especially on a modern distribution like CCRMA.

Give me an rough estimate on your computing prowess, so I don't insult
your intelligence by asking your n00b questions.
