Rafael,

I've buffered the timing cap charge waveform off of 555 LFO's before -
pretty much ramp-like.

BTW, have you seen/heard Ray Wilsons Wacky, Zany, Weird (and Possibly Odd)
device here?

YNTH.html

Not to be confused with his Soundlab - this is a pretty easy, yet effective
nutty kinda thing. Schmitt Trigger based.

Saw the Burning Man thing in Keyboard - looks like a gas.

Cheerio,
Scott

Subject: [sdiy] Question 2 - simple VCOs

Hi,

I am getting excited about portable audio (mainly planning for Burning Man)
and I have been starting to make a series of handheld modules powered on
9V. I have made one that is powered on +/- 9V but it was hard to fit into
the enclosure, so I am curious if anyone knows of any nice oscillators that
can run on +9V or +5V

I have made some 40106/74C14 schmitt trigger oscilators and they are fun,
but I am wondering if there is more out there. My impression is that 555
oscillators are about the same as those. Anything opther than square waves?

Thanks,

Rafael
