[sdiy] DIY Compressor?

I'm looking for a compressor to use in an analog modular synth.
I'm not sure if there are any good implementations for a compressor 
inside an analog synth, but it must be fun.
I don't want one of those "regular/stomp box" compressors, they need to 
be fun, with some CV inputs and some bizarre side chaining 
possibilities. Surprise me here.
I'm already on the look out for some nice old-fashioned VU indicators;-)

Any resources on this?
