Here is my terms of the qualification of "endless sustain".
:A adsr envelope as stated by Grant with a sustain that's
:when activated gives an endless sustaining note or sound,
:as found in an electronic instrument.
:Wich ""asumes"" power uninteruptable, normal functioning,
:malfunctioning of individual components dont count.
:(no it dosent state wheter it must be a human finger
:activating the sustain trough a key press).

That compared to any other living beeing or mechanical
instrument that dosent uses electronics or other means 
of generating endless sustain as described above.

Counted out instruments or action
thats supposed to generate sound:

:Every other instrument thats exited by human!
:blowing, scrape'ing, pluck'ing, struck'ing, etc.

You have to come up with something
else, what about a magnetophone?! :)
