Yeah, that's what I usually do, when practical.

Some of the SNIC-based wave shapers I worked on were non-intuitive, so I 
resorted to typing equations into Mathematica and letting that program do 
the math.  This approach works pretty well, except you are pretty much 
limited to ideal circuit behavior.
