[sdiy] Simulating SW?

these are free, however most are limited. these are all based on the
original spice

Simetrix, quite powerful, but also limits the number of analog nodes in
a circuit. It can do any kind of simulation that I have heard of. I have
been doing multi-step simulations of dc sweeps and varying temperature.
This is my favorite, but the limitation makes it hard to use for any
large circuit.

CircuitMaker Student, apparently no longer offered, but you should still
be able to find a copy online. I use this sometimes, to test some simple
circuits quickly.

LtSpice (SwitcherCad), this is linear's spice program. I think it is
pretty good, and is not limited. I just don't like the interface much.

there are many others, ngspice is an open source version, but command
line driven. I believe, you can use it with some capture programs. links
from thier website will provide many other alternatives that might be
worth checking.
