Another thing that deserves mention - I prefer to use the LS312 in a TO-78
can as I stuff my tempco underneath it and it's a pain to do it with a TO-71
because the leads are a bit too close to fit the thing in there without
getting angry in the process.   Even though the TO-71 is considered their
'standard' package for through hole,  made sure to produce a lot of the
318's in a TO-78 for me...and I've not ordered more than 80 or so of these
devices, ever.

Again, they are really there for the small guys.  You call Analog Devices,
you get some customer service specialist (or 'advocate' as VW likes to call
them).  You call LS, you get the Marketing Manager or one of the designers.
It's great.
