I recently received the Builder's Guide and Preferred Circuits Collection -- 
I just wasn't ready to drop $300, so I went for this set on Bernie's
recommendation. I've read some of it but have had little free time these
last few weeks. My first impression is that the information is very
practical, and I like that he often present a few different methods,
explaining the pros & cons of each. (By the way, Bernie ships very quickly.)

As for punching holes, another option is a local print shop, which should
have a device that drills holes. For a nominal fee, the print shop can drill
the whole set of ENotes in seconds, with better alignment than you'll get
from a hand punch.
