yeah i have the same feelings here... it's at the point where i'm planning
on getting a second tr-606, adding trigger in/out and then using a trigger
to midi converter to use it to seq an mpc-1000 lol
i know someone made a clone of the tr-808 and rebuilt the sequencer, but he
didn't give any info on his site and i don't think it was complete either...
and this was back a few years ago.
i'd rather have a 6 or more track gate/trig sequencer than a P3 or other
modern DIY sequencer...
we should pay someone to make one :P

Has anyone out there come across a gate/trigger sequencer design that can
control multiple tracks like the TR808? With a switch so you can switch
between different instruments and change steps on the fly? The TR808
sequencer has alot of obsolete parts. Has anyone seen a more modern version
of this.
Obviously Midi would be the sensible choice but you cant beat the 808
sequencer for changing patterns quickly.
