WHEW!

I think I've got it now.  Using 6 16x16 matricies I can have 16
virtual patchcords that can choose from 32 sources and 48
destinations.  Each patchcord has within it a VCA whose control input
can be patched to any of the 16 patchcords.  Now, by using one
additional 16x16 matrix I can insert a 10k resistor inline with each
cord such that the low Ron of the matrix is overcome, any source can
be patched to any destination and vice versa without screwing each
other up (in theory).  Also, this can be set up in an extensible
manner such that by adding another set of switches you can gain an
extra set of patch cords, inputs, outputs or all at once.   It would
be a real boon to this project to be able to mix various sizes of
switch.. I'll need to do some reading about serial interfaces, any
reccomendations?
