[sdiy] dodgy plasma TV [very OT]

Hi,

First apologies for this very OT post, but I don't have anyone else to
ask. Hit delete now if you don't want to read on :)

My friend has just given me his very large plasma TV to fix. It has had
beer spilt down the front and since then it will run for a while (and
work fine), but then trip the power in the house.

My first question is: are there likely to be very high voltages floating
around in these things long after they are powered down (I think not,
but I want to be sure before I start poking around too much). It has a
lot of very large caps, so it'd be a job to go through discharging them all.

And my 2nd question .. any idea why it might be tripping the power after
a period of being on? Electrically I can't see anything that looks too
gunked up, but I don't know too much about how the plasma technology
itself works.

Anyway, final apology for the OT post!
Seb
