[sdiy] variable midi shuffle?

Another possibility would be to do it the old tracker way: toggle between
two different tempo commands on each sixteenth note (or eighth if you want
1/8 swing, or whatever you like).

IIRC I have tried this succesfully :-) YMMV though.
