i likewise appreciate the diversity of our global community.  open arms to posters of all languages, even those English (as opposed to American) speakers who keep confusing tubes w/ valves...  

imnsho, it's wrongheaded to try and "enforce" one language over another... everyone's free to post however they want, but in practice posts in swahili will get fewer responses than those in english...  so folks will tend towards a lingua franca out of self-interest.  on the otherhand, if it looks interesting ("os diagramas esquemáticos livres de Buchla afixaram"--portugese) i'll go to the trouble of doing a babblefish translation, and i'm usually glad i did.  i've gotten some very valuable info from sites w/ machine-(mis)translated Japanese and some schematics.
