[sdiy] NE572 using NE570 trick?

Many NE570 circuits used a 2 opamp, two diodes circuit to
form a level-dependent capacitance multiplier for the
time constant capacitor. This helps to give fast reaction
on large transients, while keeping distortion reasonable
at more or less steady signals.
The NE572 has two separate capacitors (for attack and release),
also to keep distortion low, while having fast reaction
times on quickly rising levels.
Which method is better?
And more important, can the capacitance multiplier method
also be used with the NE572? And if so, on which capacitor
should it be used, attack, release, or even both?
Or does the separation of both time constants prevent
the use of this helper circuit? Or make it unnecessary?
Let me know ...
JH.
