[sdiy] variable midi shuffle?

Hi.

Quoting some words of Thorsten Klose from the Midibox (seq) fame:
"Groove works also with external clock, the MIDI clock will be
quadrupled by some kind of software implemented PLL (phase locked
loop)."

I'd guess, this is also the way how sequencers synced to midi clock
determine the tempo for internal timebases:

"I play these events in this (calculated) time, before next midiclock
event - correct the timebase, if midi clock is early or late."

Midi clock is the sync signal for the internal timebase. I think
sending shuffling midiclocks would make synced devices speed up or
slow down the tempos in 24ppq resolution - remember all the events
between midiclocks are played back in the tempo selected by the 2
midiclock before it.

Useful or not?

Bye, Samppa
