The sad part is, that internally they of course have those specs and 
datasheets -- and are most likely to send you a copy, if...

...you manage to present a written authorization by the company who they 
manufactured those chips for.

Datasheets for the Hitachi HD44350/44351 aka HM350/351 couple of LCD 
controllers anyone? They're used within the 96x64 machines (FZ-1, 
VZ-10m).
