[sdiy] variable midi shuffle?

Hmm, in my experience i've built custom timing systems by manipulating
24ppqn midi beat clock. It's not as flexible as endpoint implementations,
but it can be useful and i've not had a device do something unexpected
(tested on lots of gear, nothing wierd so far).
