I was planning to use a RapidIO fabric which would give each
pair of processors a 10Gbps path to the RapidIO switch which
connects to all processors within a group and to other groups
within a cluster. The RapidIO standard supports both message
passing and distributed memory. In addition, each group of 8
processors would have a Gigabit Ethernet connection to the 7
other groups within a cluster, and each cluster would have a
10Gbit link to a switch interconnecting 8 clusters within a
supercluster. Is that enough bandwidth? :-)

That is the ultimate goal.
