[sdiy] Yamaha GS/CS card reader?

I think the CS-40m used the same funky little mag card reader.
Unfortunately, both the CS-40m and the CS-70m are about as common as hen's
teeth. Perhaps a modern magnetic 'credit card' reader could be adapted to
read and write the GS-2 cards? There's a great magazine out (just had its
first issue) called "Make" that is FULL of neat DIY stuff. One of the
articles was about someone hacking together a mag card reader, and includes
lists of hardware and software vendors. Make is an expensive magazine (about
$US14 I think), but definitely worth a read. They also have an article about
attaching a single-use camera to a kite to get aerial photos on the cheap.
Cool stuff.
