Hi Don,

Thank you for fighting the good fight.

I believe the problem is that "modern" fab processes do not like 30  
volts across a die.

That requires a large die, and they can probably make 10,000 1.8 volt  
transistors from the same square of silicon needed for forty 30 volt  
transistors.

At least thats what the reps tell me. The move to low voltage ANALOG  
is motivated by greed. Low voltage parts are much more profitable  
than high voltage parts.
