Tragically, I'm not a RF engineer....... but, I imagine there is some
arrangement
of one (or more!) chunks of metal that would increase playability.
The 'classical' antenna design, wasn't because LT happened to find those two
shapes
on a skip in St. Petersberg.
There must be someone here with an idea on this.. all I know, is that at
500K,
the wavelength is pretty long, long enough that no simplifying assumptions
are going to work.

In fact, with 2 antennas connected electrically, I'm sure you could tailor
whatever response you wanted, by having your hand move away from one as it
approached the other, and having them not physically in parallel.
