A computer controlled theremin would be a fun project... I mean, a
real theremin controled by robotic means... seems like a possible good
use for all of our PDP-11/03s, HP-1000s, IBM PC-XT's AT's, PDP-8's,
etc. that are often sitting around collecting dust. What I'm thinking
of is a "learning" theremin that's able to memorize our hand movements
and replicate the music using artificial hands. Now, wouldn't it be
cool to create some fake hands, paint them flourescent colors, maybe
psychedelic colors, along with the theremin, then turn on a black
light and watch them play the theremin? The effects would be best if
using a computer with "blinkenlights" on the front panel.

Quantize a theremin? *shudder*!
