Not to mention: how many batteries do people have sitting in their
yards, garages, driveways, basements, etc.? E.g., the classic "I'll
take the old battery back to the store, service station, etc., when I
get around to it" syndrome. Since they don't pay anything for the
core, the incentive to take the old batteries back just isn't there.
One does get tired of looking at them after a while... but I imagine
that heavy 1000 CCA batteries are rather handy for dropping out of
windows on door to door pests like jehovas witnesses, political
campaigners, etc. (for those lucky enough to have windows directly
over their front doors!) :-)
