I just bought one of Luxo's least-expensive 5-diopter magnifier lamps, and
wow, what a great tool. Not only is the magnifier a boon, but the circular
bulb creates shadow-free illumination. I wish I'd bought one of these years
ago. OTOH my eyes were better years ago; maybe these things become more
essential as one ages.
