No, I don't think Serge used this.
Serge made some comments in Electronotes on the LM13600 and CA3280 when these
chips were new (!). (I think Ian has posted a link to this article recently.)
Much later, when I was browsing thru old EN issues, I found Serge's comments
and tried one of his ideas to improove the linearity of the LM13600. It turned
out to be no improovement, but actually made linearity worse. Because the
original idea was Serge's and not mine, and I like to give credit to my
sources, this circuit became known as "Serge VCA idea". Apparently the name
stuck even after it turned out to be not such a good idea. Please note that
Jörgen Bergfors has set quotation marks around the word "Serge".
