No dice!
What you suggested, Ian is indeed what I usually associate with audio
output circuits, trying to keep the voltage managable and remove DC.
And now I have >some< idea how this is supposed to work.
Whereas it is good for other circuits, it does not work for my
Kraakdoos. More accurately, the output does work, but it changes the
behavior of my Kraakdoos so much that it is almost unplayable. I have
been getting a variety of sounds out of this thing - but when I connect
the new output jack to a mixer or soundcard, the Kraakdoos output
changes to a fairly constant buzz which does not change very much as it
is handled.
I was hoping this solution would have worked, but I need to think of
something else! Transformers will probably provide the isolation to
keep the performace behavior relatively consistant, but the two
10k-8ohm I have are a bit too large for my handheld case. There are
probably low-wattage PC mount versions readily available, I'll try to
get some soon, maybe next week.
