Hmmm. Reminds me of the time I worked at the BBC. When routine
maintenance was due in a studio, one of the engineers would go down
and start work realigning the tape machines or whatever. Chances are
that some other evil doer had already slipped into the studio and
placed an electrolytic dangling on the end of a patch cord which was
plugged into tie-line to the engineering workshop.
All that was to be done was for someone in the workshop to place a
reverse voltage (50V was readily available) down the tie-line, and
lo...remote controlled detonation.
You always learnt to do a sweep of the tie-lines for booby traps
before starting work on the night shift !
