 It's absolutely true that early (60s-70s) service 
manuals directed you to short out both cap 
terminals to ground. All n' all it's probably not 
going to hurt the amp.. That's not what it's about.

It's about having the good sense not to tell 
people who may not know any better to 
disregard safety procedures. At the very least
we are saving a innocent screwdriver. :)

People can do stupid things..My lawn mower 
came with a warning not to use it on the roof of 
my house....That means that somebody actually 
did it, screwed up and then sued!!..:)
