[sdiy] finding obsolete components

If you're looking for large quantities, then a Google search for a specific
part number will often turn up distributors with some parts to sell. I found
a place with a bunch of CEM 3394s to sell, but minimum buy was something
like 200 pieces. Otherwise, you might want to check eBay. Look under
'business and industrial', and if they're music related chips, then also
search under the musical instrument categories. The vender "Chip for Brains"
turns up quite often with CEM and SSM chips, delay chips, and various other
goodies. His prices are okay and the service is excellent.

Tim (thinks the 3394 is a neat little chip) Servo

Subject: [sdiy] finding obsolete components

Does anyone know of a good way to obtain obsolete or discontinued ics?
The only thing I've been able to find are business to business distributors.

Thanks in advance,
