I suspect that there are a LOT more 3080 out there...
some of the pricing is not that bad. But still... transistors
will work too. I did not study the layouts to see if its easy
to glue pairs together, or to sub the 2SA798 and 2SC1583.
It would work better with matched pairs... but as discussed
on list lately... matching from the same lot is usually pretty
good anyway.
I just bought CA3046 for $.24 each... otoh they are not PNP
which Tom's new design needs (some of)
For the newbs, transistors might be more forgiving as well... and they
are dirt cheap (maybe $.06 ea)
Tom... you do not get to bitch unless they cancelled your order
and did NOT INFORM you. :^P (like MCM did to me on some 2SC1583)
