Some NTE parts are exact matches for what they are supposed to replace
(in fact, they are the SAME component, relabelled & marked up xxx%).
Others are 'kind of close' spec wise. Remember they are intended for
repair guys, and (one hopes) if a replacement transistor isn't quite exact,
maybe the repair guy can tweak something to get it going.
Working bacvkwards, you can see a whole bunch of 'non-identical but
close' parts are crossed to the same NTE part.
What IS invaluable, is the NTE book that shows the pinouts!
